Baseball Recap: Creekside Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lincoln last Wednesday, Creekside came back down to earth. The Creekside Knights lost 7-1 to the Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors on Thursday. The matchup marked the Knights' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Gavin Duprey was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Creekside is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 1-2 otherwise.

At the plate, Creekside saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Balazic, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Creekside's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Trinity Christian Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Creekside will venture away from home to square off against Hagerty at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hagerty will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Creekside surely won't give up without a fight. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Columbia at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
