Soccer Game Preview: Franklin vs. Sheldon

The Franklin Wildcats will challenge the Sheldon Huskies at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Franklin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.6 goals per game this season.

Sheldon will be up against a hot Franklin team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Wildcats walked away with a 3-1 win over Elk Grove on Wednesday. Given Franklin's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 35th, while Elk Grove are ranked 230th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Franklin hit Elk Grove with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Adnan Mohammad, Michael Tse, and Landon Roberson.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sheldon). They blew past Laguna Creek 5-2 on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for Sheldon in their matchups with Laguna Creek: they've now won five in a row.

Franklin's win bumped their record up to 13-0-3. As for Sheldon, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3-2.

Everything went Franklin's way against Sheldon in their previous matchup on January 9th, as Franklin made off with a 5-1 win. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Huskies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
