Baseball Recap: Seneca Triumphs

Seneca took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Princeton, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Fighting Irish narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Tigers 8-6.

Seneca's victory bumped their record up to 12-15. As for Princeton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Seneca and Princeton could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Fighting Irish (ranked 357th) will meet St. Bede (ranked 174th) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Princeton will square off against Marquette at 3:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (458 vs. 16).
