Recap: Campbellsville Eagles vs. Larue County Hawks
The Campbellsville Eagles lost against the Larue County Hawks back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Campbellsville took a 63-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Larue County. Campbellsville has not had much luck with Larue County recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Deondre Weathers, who scored 19 points along with three steals. Weathers has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rowan Petett, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
It was another big night for Daniel Allen, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and five assists for Larue County. Allen has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 11 times he's played. Landon Blakey was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Campbellsville has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Larue County, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Campbellsville will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Taylor County at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. Taylor County is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Larue County, they will head out on the road to challenge Hart County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
