Baseball Recap: Legacy Extends Winning Streak to Three

Legacy hadn't done well against Bishop Gorman recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Longhorns walked away with a 10-5 win over the Gaels. The victory was nothing new for the Longhorns as they're now sitting on three straight.

Legacy got a big performance out of Bomani Satterfield, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Satterfield is becoming a predictor of the Longhorns' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 7-12 when he doesn't). William Glover was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Legacy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matches.

Legacy's record is now 12-13. As for Bishop Gorman, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Legacy will square off against Cimarron-Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Longhorns are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Bishop Gorman, they will face off against Centennial at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Gaels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
