Basketball Game Preview: Hermiston Bulldogs vs. Walla Walla Blue Devils

Hermiston is 1-9 against Walla Walla since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. Having just played yesterday, the Hermiston Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Walla Walla Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Hermiston took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 68-53 win over Hanford. While the Bulldogs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Walla Walla). They took down Hanford 69-52 on Saturday.

Hermiston pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.3 points per game. As for Walla Walla, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Hermiston came up short against Walla Walla when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 68-60. Can Hermiston avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
