Hughesville hadn't done well against South Williamsport recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Spartans walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Mountaineers. This was a revenge game for the Spartans: when they faced off against the Mountaineers back in September, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

Hughesville was especially dominant in the fourth set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-20, 24-26, 25-11.

Hughesville has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season. As for South Williamsport, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Hughesville will take on rival Montoursville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, South Williamsport is set to square off against their familiar foe Loyalsock Township at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
