Basketball Recap: Mathews Takes a Loss

Mathews was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Grand Valley Mustangs and fell 56-21. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Mathews this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-20 back in December of 2024.

Mathews' defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Grand Valley, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Mathews will square off against Badger at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Grand Valley, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against St. John at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
