Volleyball Recap: Hiawatha Takes Down Pleasant Ridge in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Hiawatha had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Pleasant Ridge Rams on Monday. That's more bragging rights for the Red Hawks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Hiawatha never let Pleasant Ridge on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-22.

Claire Twombly paced Hiawatha's offense, picking up seven kills. Twombly got some help from Adison Williams and her 24 assists. Remy Siebenmorgen controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Hiawatha has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-20 record this season. As for Pleasant Ridge, their loss ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-17-4.

Hiawatha didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Council Grove on the 20th. As for Pleasant Ridge, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Silver Lake on the 20th.
