            Having just played yesterday, the Mount Miguel Matadors will jump right back in to play the Otay Ranch Mustangs  at 3:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Mount Miguel is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.5  points per game  this season.
Mount Miguel saw some tournament action  on Tuesday. They took  a  61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Eastlake. The  loss   continues a  trend for the Matadors in their matchups with the Titans: they've now lost five in a row.
 Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from  Trae Williams, who  dropped  a double-double on 18  points and 16  boards. The team also got some help courtesy of  Braylon Cardwell, who  went 5 of 8  on his way to 13 points.
 Meanwhile,  after soaring to 55  points the game before, Otay Ranch was a bit more limited  in their  matchup  on Monday. They were beaten by Mission Bay 75-29. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings  (they are ranked 653rd, while the Buccaneers are ranked 134th).
 Otay Ranch's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Mount Miguel, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
 Mount Miguel took a serious blow against Otay Ranch  when the teams last played  back in December of 2021, falling  75-39. Thankfully for Mount Miguel,  Keian Spandonis (who  went 7 of 14  on his way to 17  points along with five  boards and three  steals) won't be suiting up this time.
