Basketball Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for Legacy

Legacy extended their home winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Olivia Mortensen. The Legacy Lightning blew past the Centaurus Warriors 52-29 on Friday thanks in part to Mortensen, who shot 4-for-7 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 30 points and 15 boards. Her evening made it 24 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Jensen, who posted four points. What's more, she also racked up three assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2023.

Loss or not, Centaurus got some senior leadership from Ingrid Lorton and Rose Pacheco. Lorton went 7 of 14 en route to 16 points and seven rebounds, while Pacheco had five points and three steals. Pacheco is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Legacy's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Centaurus, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.

Legacy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-28 defeat against Frederick on the 21st. Centaurus has also already played their next game, a 56-17 victory against Niwot on the 21st.
