Softball Recap: Long Beach Poly Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

Long Beach Poly had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They had just enough and edged out the Harvard-Westlake Wolverines 13-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Jackrabbits have posted since April 30, 2024.

Ki'Ele Ho-Ching was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Janelle Morris, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Long Beach Poly kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive matches.

Long Beach Poly has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Harvard-Westlake, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-8.

As of now, neither Long Beach Poly nor the Wolverines have any future games scheduled.
