Cherry hadn't done well against Cook County recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Tigers walked away with a 3-1 win over the Vikings. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

While Cherry might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Cook County scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 14-25, 25-21.

Cherry's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Cook County, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, Cherry will welcome Mesabi East at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. After both having extra time off, Cook County and Floodwood will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:30 p.m. on September 4.
