Basketball Recap: Monmouth Regional Comes Up Short

Monmouth Regional was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 58-35 to the Point Pleasant Beach Garnet Gulls. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 374th, while the Garnet Gulls are ranked 177th).

Monmouth Regional's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Point Pleasant Beach, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-5.

Monmouth Regional will square off against Freehold Boro at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Point Pleasant Beach, they will head out to challenge Neptune at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Point Pleasant Beach knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Neptune likes a good challenge.
