Basketball Game Preview: Mount Vernon Christian Hurricanes vs. Coupeville Wolves

Mount Vernon Christian is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They are taking a road trip to take on the Coupeville Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Mount Vernon Christian will be strutting in after a victory while Coupeville will be coming in after a loss.

Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Mount Vernon Christian beat Meridian 67-63. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hurricanes.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mount Vernon Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jake Feddema, who shot 62% from the field to rack up 21 points and eight rebounds. Sean Russell was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards.

Meanwhile, Coupeville came up short against Orcas Island on Friday and fell 63-56.

Coupeville's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Mount Vernon Christian, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Mount Vernon Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Coupeville in their previous matchup back in February, winning 39-30. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hurricanes since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
