Basketball Recap: Ripley Tigers vs. Westview Chargers
Ripley lost against Westview two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Ripley Tigers fell just short of the Westview Chargers by a score of 60-57. The Tigers just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.
Westview's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Donteze Joy, who posted 13 points and five boards. Joy is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Miles Brown, who went 6-for-12 en route to 14 points.
Ripley's defeat dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Westview, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-9.
Ripley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westview, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 76-64 victory against Peabody on the 25th.
