Baseball Recap: Newman Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

Newman won against Metairie Park Country Day last Tuesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Greenies beat the South Plaquemines Hurricanes by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. The victory continues a trend for the Greenies in their matchups with the Hurricanes: they've now won nine in a row.

Newman's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-12. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for South Plaquemines, they now have a losing record of 9-10.
