Basketball Game Preview: Pee Dee Academy Golden Eagles vs. Cathedral Academy Generals

The Pee Dee Academy Golden Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Cathedral Academy Generals at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pee Dee Academy has three straight victories, Cathedral Academy has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Tuesday, Pee Dee Academy strolled past Williamsburg Academy with points to spare, taking the game 30-15. Given the Golden Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while the Stallions are ranked 262nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Cathedral Academy came up short against Patrick Henry Academy on Monday and fell 52-41.

Pee Dee Academy will have to contain Madison Jackson as she made an impact in Cathedral Academy's last game. She posted 26 points. The dominant performance gave Jackson a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Raven Williams, who earned seven points.

Pee Dee Academy's win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Cathedral Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.

Pee Dee Academy came up short against Cathedral Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 40-36. Can Pee Dee Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
