Basketball Recap: Whitefield Academy Piles Up the Points Against Landmark Christian

Whitefield Academy lost to Landmark Christian back in January of 2021, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Whitefield Academy WolfPack really took it to the Landmark Christian War Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up a 58-27 win. The WolfPack have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 20 points or more this season.

Whitefield Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emahni Chambliss led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Chambliss a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Hailey Houlder, who posted 17 points along with six boards and four steals.

Landmark Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Iyrianna Garvin, who earned two points in addition to ten rebounds and four blocks. Addison Payne also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Whitefield Academy and bumps their season record up to 14-9. As for Landmark Christian, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Whitefield Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against King's Ridge Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Whitefield Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59 points per game this season. As for Landmark Christian, they will also get right back to it: they'll face off against Walker at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Landmark Christian is facing Walker at the right time seeing as Walker is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
