Soccer Game Preview: Pelion vs. Gilbert

The Pelion Panthers will challenge the Gilbert Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Pelion fought the good fight in their overtime game against Saluda on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. Pelion's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Gilbert came up short against South Aiken on Friday, falling 6-1. Gilbert were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 3-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Cade Hopp, who's now up to six this season.

Gilbert has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7-2 record this season. As for Pelion, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
