Baseball Game Preview: Etiwanda Eagles vs. Rancho Cucamonga Cougars

For the second straight game, Etiwanda will face off against Rancho Cucamonga. The Eagles will take on the Cougars at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Etiwanda 3.6, Rancho Cucamonga 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Etiwanda took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over Rancho Cucamonga. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Jack Holguin tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over 5.1 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Etiwanda is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-9-1 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Angel Mejia, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. James Milam was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
