Softball Recap: Central Magnet Finds Home Field Redemption Against Shelbyville Central

There's no place like home for Central Magnet, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. Everything went their way against the Shelbyville Central Golden Eagles on Friday as Central Magnet made off with a 12-2 victory. Considering Central Magnet has won three matchups by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Paige Simmons was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Megan Weber, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.

Central Magnet was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Central Magnet moved to 4-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Shelbyville Central, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Central Magnet will host Tullahoma at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shelbyville Central, they will head out to square off against Warren County at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
