Pulaski County extended their winning streak to eight on Monday, bumping them up to 19-7. They came out on top against the Mercer County Titans by a score of 53-43. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Maroons' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Titans are ranked 99th).

As for Mercer County, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-11. The loss continues a trend for them in their meetings with Pulaski County: they've now lost three in a row.

Mercer County's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Izzie Carlton, who dropped a triple-double with 11 points, 15 rebounds, and ten blocks. The Titans are 8-2 when Carlton posts five or more blocks, but 5-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Olive Frisby, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten boards.

Pulaski County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-36 victory against Metcalfe County on the 17th. As for Mercer County, they have also already played their next game, a 72-51 loss against Southwestern on the 19th.
