Softball Recap: Sanger Comes Up Short

If Sanger was riding high fresh off their 16-6 takedown of Celina on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Indians came up short against the Van Alstyne Panthers on Tuesday, falling 9-1. The Indians have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Sanger's loss dropped their record down to 16-10-3. As for Van Alstyne, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.

Sanger and Van Alstyne should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Indians will face off against Gainesville at 6:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (297 vs. 993). Meanwhile, Van Alstyne (ranked 49th) will meet Celina (ranked 373rd) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
