Softball Recap: Lemont Triumphs

While Lemont's victory against Tinley Park wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lemont HS won by a run and slipped past the Titans 3-2. The Lemont HS haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Ella Phelan, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of McKenzie Purgatorio, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

Lemont hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tinley Park struck out eight times.

Lemont's victory bumped their record up to 24-8. As for Tinley Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-12.

Lemont will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Titans: the pair will be back at it again later today.
