Basketball Game Preview: Waxahachie Indians vs. Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes

Waxahachie is 2-8 against Duncanville since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Waxahachie Indians will welcome the Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Waxahachie narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Mesquite 73-71. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Skeeters are ranked 429th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Waxahachie's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eddie Williams, who went 10 for 14 to rack up 22 points and five boards. The dominant performance gave Williams a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Bradley, who went 5 of 7 en route to 17 points and six assists.

Waxahachie smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Duncanville waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 99-71 victory over the Longhorns. The Panthers and Pantherettes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 28 points or more this season.

Duncanville pushed their record up to 19-7 with the win, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.9 points over those games. As for Waxahachie, their victory bumped their record up to 16-13.
