Recap: Ribault Trojans vs. Sandalwood Saints

The matchup between the Ribault Trojans and the Sandalwood Saints on Friday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. Ribault came out on top against Sandalwood by a score of 59-49. Given Ribault's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Sandalwood is ranked 461st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Caleb Williams, who scored 20 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Ribault's points. Another player making a difference was Tyreon Bradwell, who scored 12 points.

Ribault pushed their record up to 11-4 with that win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.9 points per game. As for Sandalwood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ribault won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Lake Howell at 5:00 p.m. on January 6th. Hopefully Lake Howell focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Friday. Sandalwood and Riverside will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
