Softball Recap: Fannett Metal Comes Up Short

After flying high against McConnellsburg on Thursday, Fannett Metal came back down to earth. Fannett Metal fell just short of the Southern Huntingdon County Rockets by a score of 7-6 on Monday. Fannett Metal hasn't had much luck with Southern Huntingdon County recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Harleigh Detweiler was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. Detweiler was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Kylie Arnold was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Quaylee Coble was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Fannett Metal's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Southern Huntingdon County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-3.

Looking ahead, Fannett Metal will head out to challenge Shade at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southern Huntingdon County, they will host Everett at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
