St. Patrick and Ocean Springs are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. St. Patrick will host Ocean Springs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

St. Patrick had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Pass Christian put an end to it on Tuesday. St. Patrick lost 12-2 to Pass Christian. The Fighting Irish's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

St. Patrick saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addysen Peyret, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was Peyret's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Ocean Springs waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Warriors 3-1.

Kylie Untisz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in February.

On the hitting side, K'Lee Gum was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Ocean Springs' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-11. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for St. Patrick, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. St. Patrick hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .382. However, it's not like Ocean Springs struggles in that department as they've averaged .374. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

St. Patrick was able to grind out a solid victory over Ocean Springs in their previous meeting back in February, winning 11-8. Will St. Patrick repeat their success, or does Ocean Springs has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
