Football Recap: Tocoi Creek Comes Up Short

Tocoi Creek managed to keep up with Beachside until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Toros took a blow against the Barracudas, falling 45-14. The Toros gained 85 more yards on the day, but it was the Barracudas that made the best use of them.

Despite the defeat, Tocoi Creek saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Andrew Dolan rushed for 147 yards and one TD.

It was another big night for Eddie Jordan, who threw for 212 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes for Beachside. 104 of Jordan's passing yards were hauled in by Drew Watson.

Tocoi Creek has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Beachside, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tocoi Creek will host Buchholz at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats' defense has only allowed 13.3 points per game this season, so the Toros' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Beachside, they will face off against Fleming Island at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
