Recap: Jellico Blue Devils vs. Harriman Blue Devils
The Jellico Blue Devils scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They managed a 60-54 victory over Harriman. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Jellico.
When it comes to explaining why Harriman lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aaralyn Humphrey. Despite the final result, she scored nine points along with nine rebounds and seven assists. Humphrey set a new season high mark in steals with five. Another player making a difference was Lexi Rose, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Even though they lost, Harriman were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Jellico's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Harriman, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jellico will challenge Oliver Springs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Oliver Springs is ranked 298th, while Jellico is ranked 281st). As for Harriman, they will head out on the road to face off against Rockwood at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Rockwood is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
