Soccer Game Preview: Berthoud vs. Mountain View

The Berthoud Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Mountain View Mountain Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Berthoud will be strutting in after a victory while Mountain View will be coming in after a loss.

Berthoud will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Thompson Valley, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. The Spartans never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 3-0 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for Berthoud, who have now won four contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Mountain View fell victim to Thompson Valley and their airtight defense last Tuesday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 4-0.

Mountain View's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Berthoud, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

Berthoud took their win against Mountain View in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
