Basketball Recap: Shorecrest Prep Takes a Loss

Shorecrest Prep lost against Calvary Christian back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Shorecrest Prep Chargers took a hard 59-42 fall against the Calvary Christian Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 271st, while the Warriors are ranked 39th).

When it comes to explaining why Shorecrest Prep lost, don't look at Nickolas Bearden. Despite the final result, he posted 20 points. Bearden has been hot for a while, having posted 19 or more points the last 11 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ahmad Crumity, who scored ten points.

Shorecrest Prep's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Calvary Christian, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 21-2.

Shorecrest Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-41 win against Osceola on the 30th. Calvary Christian has also already played their next match, an 82-61 defeat against Victory Christian Academy on the 28th.
