Baseball Game Preview: East Robertson Indians vs. White House-Heritage Patriots

The East Robertson Indians will be taking part in a tournament against the White House-Heritage Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with East Robertson sitting on three straight wins and White House-Heritage on ten.

Last Thursday, East Robertson earned a 9-4 victory over Springfield.

Meanwhile, White House-Heritage was able to grind out a solid win over Trousdale County on Tuesday, taking the game 7-2.

Caleb Cayce made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.

Cayce wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Keathley, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

White House-Heritage kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive matches.

White House-Heritage's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for East Robertson, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.
