Volleyball Game Preview: Mountain Empire Redhawks vs. Gompers Prep Academy Eagles

Mountain Empire extended their home winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Amar Mahasin. The Redhawks came out on top against School for Entrepreneurship & Technology by a score of 3-1 on Thursday for which the team can thank Mahasin, who had 29 digs and three assists. He has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times he's played.

Mountain Empire was especially dominant in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 22-25, 25-13, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Gompers Prep Academy got their first taste of in-conference action on Thursday and they started things off strong. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Monarch. That three set margin sets a new team best for the Eagles this season.

One reason for the win was Gompers Prep Academy's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-21, 25-8.

Gompers Prep Academy's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-13. As for Mountain Empire, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Mountain Empire took their victory against Gompers Prep Academy in their previous matchup on April 10th by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Redhawks repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
