Bert Corona Charter had lost four straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-5 to make it five. They took a hard 59-42 fall against Valor Academy. On the bright side, the 42- point effort marked the Knights' highest-scoring game to date.

As for Valor Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points over those games.

Maliqq Van Arsdale was his usual excellent self, shooting 58% from the field to rack up 24 points in addition to seven assists and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Maliqui Van Arsdale, who went 6-for-11 en route to 12 points along with eight rebounds and five steals.

Bert Corona Charter and Valor Academy will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Knights are set to square off against their familiar foe Lakeview Charter at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Valor Academy will take on rival Magnolia Science Academy Reseda at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
