Football Recap: Providence Christian Takes Down Loachapoka in a Playoff Battle + How To Watch

Providence Christian had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They beat the Loachapoka Indians on Friday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 17-14. The victory was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on four straight.

Colson Love was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 53 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. Those 53 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Providence Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Sawyer Bienvenu and John Martin Byrd. Another thorn in Loachapoka's side was Tyler Sharp, who made 16 total tackles.

Loachapoka lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kj Carter, who rushed for 156 yards, and also threw for 91 yards and a pair of TDs. Lareaco Echols was another key back, rushing for 118 yards while picking up 7.4 yards per carry.

Providence Christian's record is now 9-3. As for Loachapoka, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 8-4 record.

Coming up, Providence Christian will take on Reeltown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Loachapoka does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
