Softball Recap: Elkhart Christian Academy Triumphs

Elkhart Christian Academy won the last time they faced Hamilton and things went their way on Friday too. The Eagles came out on top against the Marines by a score of 6-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Brianna Ehninger was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Naomi Herbster, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one triple, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Ella Barnes also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Elkhart Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Hamilton, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Elkhart Christian Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Marines: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
