Basketball Game Preview: Loveland Red Wolves vs. Windsor Wizards

The Loveland Red Wolves will face off against the Windsor Wizards at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Loveland came up short against Timnath on Saturday, falling 56-36. While losing is never fun, the Red Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 172nd, while the Cubs are ranked 35th).

Despite the defeat, Loveland saw an underclassman step up: freshman Addie Christopher posted 12 points. Christopher is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Courtlyn Yaussi was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, Windsor waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with 12 straight wins... but they left with 13. Everything went their way against the Lobos as they made off with a 69-43 victory. The Wizards have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 games by 22 points or more this season.

Windsor pushed their record up to 18-4 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.5 points over those games. As for Loveland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Loveland was dealt a bruising 86-17 loss at the hands of Windsor in their previous meeting back in January. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Loveland was down 47-11.
