Volleyball Recap: Tonganoxie Comes Up Short

Tonganoxie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Louisburg Wildcats. The Chieftains were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Louisburg scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 22-25, 25-22, 25-17.

Regan Williams was the offensive standout of the match as she had ten digs.

Tonganoxie's loss dropped their record down to 13-16-2. As for Louisburg, their record is now 18-10.

Tonganoxie and Louisburg should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings. The Chieftains will face off against Bonner Springs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (94 vs. 295). Meanwhile, Louisburg (ranked 69th) will meet Pleasant Ridge (ranked 259th) at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
