Baseball Game Preview: Compton Tarbabes vs. Rancho Dominguez Lobos

The Compton Tarbabes are taking a road trip to square off against the Rancho Dominguez Lobos at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Compton's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five contests.

While Compton didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victor by a 16-4 margin over Inglewood on Friday. The Tarbabes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

Marcos Reveles looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Anthony Lopez and Bobby Carrasco did most of the damage at the plate: Lopez scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Carrasco scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. What's more, Lopez posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Victor Contreras also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Rancho Dominguez had just enough and edged out Port of Los Angeles 6-4 on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lobos.

Compton's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 14 runs. As for Rancho Dominguez, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Everything went Compton's way against Rancho Dominguez in their previous meeting back in March of 2015, as Compton made off with a 14-4 win. Does Compton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rancho Dominguez turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
