Preview: Waynesville Spartans vs. Valley View Spartans

Waynesville is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Valley View is on a nine-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Waynesville Spartans will take on the Valley View Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Waynesville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 137th, while Valley View is ranked 44th).

Waynesville had a rough season last year, but they looks ready to turn that poor record around this year. They fell just short of Eaton by a score of 32-29.

Meanwhile, Valley View's game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They breezed by Brookville at home to the tune of 49-21. The result was nothing new for Valley View, who have now won eight games by 21 points or more so far this season.

Caden Henson - qb 2024 continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 146 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, while also throwing for 153 yards and a touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes. Henson - qb 2024 was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 54 yards. Micah Valenti was another key contributor, gaining 58 total yards and three touchdowns.

Valley View's win bumped their season record to 9-0 while Waynesville's defeat dropped theirs to 7-2.
