Basketball Recap: Summit Takes a Loss

Summit was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 50-49 heartbreaker at the hands of the Glenwood Springs Demons. The Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Demons from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Summit still got an impressive performance from Eduardo Gutierrez, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 boards. That was a full 51% of Summit's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Lucas Comcowich, who went 5 of 11 en route to 13 points.

Summit's record is now 1-15. As for Glenwood Springs, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.

Summit didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-40 loss against Centaurus on the 1st. As for Glenwood Springs, they will take on Battle Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Glenwood Springs is facing Battle Mountain at the right time seeing as Battle Mountain is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
