Recap: Klein Cain Hurricanes vs. Bridgeland Bears
The Klein Cain Hurricanes had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Bridgeland 50-49. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Klein Cain was led to victory by Blaine Bullard and Issac Mooring. Bullard picked up 255 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Mooring threw for 338 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.5 yards per attempt. Bullard's longest reception was for an incredible 94 yards.
Bridgeland's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Oscar Nnanna, who picked up 240 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Jett Lewis, who threw for 295 yards and three touchdowns.
Even if they lost, Bridgeland's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Andre Roy.
Klein Cain's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.0 points per game. As for Bridgeland, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-2.
Klein Cain will square off against Westfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Westfield will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak. Bridgeland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
