Baseball Recap: Norwell Takes a Loss

Norwell easily dispatched Huntington North last Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Knights fell just short of the Columbia City Eagles by a score of 8-6 on Thursday. The Knights were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Noah Schamerloh was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Graft, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Norwell's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Columbia City, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-8.

Looking ahead, Norwell will challenge Carroll at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Columbia City, they will take on Angola at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Hornets will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
