Volleyball Recap: Champion Takes a Loss

Champion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Garfield G-Men. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Flashes of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-13, 25-14.

Garfield was led to victory by Lily Shay and Ella Kissell. Shay had 18 digs and three aces, while Kissell had four digs. Shay is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last seven games she's played dating back to last season.

Champion's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Garfield, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Champion is set to challenge their familiar foe LaBrae at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Garfield will square off against rival Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
