Softball Recap: Mountain View Cougars vs. Crook County Cowboys
Mountain View's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They didn't even let the Crook County Cowboys on the board, marking the Cougars' second-straight 10-0 shutout. While the Cougars didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Blaire Eckman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Eckman was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Kallie Eckman was incredible, firing off two home runs, four RBI, and one stolen base while going 3-for-5. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Brooklynn Hueners was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
Mountain View was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
