Baseball Recap: Valley Forge Comes Up Short

Valley Forge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 21st straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Lakewood Rangers, falling 26-8. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rangers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-0 on Monday.

Nelson Cruz made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season. Sean Frank was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Valley Forge's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Lakewood, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Coming up, Valley Forge will be playing in front of their home fans against Columbia at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lakewood, they are taking a road trip to face off against Normandy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rangers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Invaders have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
