Softball Game Preview: Masconomet Regional Chieftains vs. Danvers Falcons

The Masconomet Regional Chieftains will challenge the Danvers Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Masconomet Regional lost 12-6 to Newburyport on Monday. The Chieftains have struggled against the Clippers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Lowell Catholic hit Danvers with a five-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Falcons fell just short of the Ftng Crusaders by a score of 10-9.

Addi McCarty was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kyla Moroney, who went 3-for-5 with two runs and one double.

Masconomet Regional's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Danvers, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-5.
