Softball Game Preview: Alamo Heights Mules vs. Fredericksburg Billies

Alamo Heights is 0-4 against Fredericksburg since March of 2017 but things could change on Saturday. The Alamo Heights Mules will take on the Fredericksburg Billies in a tournament on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Alamo Heights saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hays. The Mules have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alamo Heights saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elle Leavitt, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Fredericksburg also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Hays by a score of 15-12.

Larryn Feuge stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Riley McGuffie was another, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.

Even though they lost, Fredericksburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hays only posted a batting average of .321.

Fredericksburg's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Alamo Heights, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Alamo Heights might still be hurting after the 11-2 loss they got from Fredericksburg in their previous matchup back in February of 2022. Can Alamo Heights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
